(Washington, DC) Akridge and DC Velodrome have announced an agreement to locate the District’s first track cycling facility on Buzzard Point in southwest DC. DC Velodrome, a newly formed nonprofit organization, will install the track on the south end of Akridge’s nine-acre development site at 100 V Street by June. The venue will stage professional and amateur races from June through the fall and offer a wide range of classes for children and adults. The track, leased from Major League Cycling, can accommodate 12 to 24 cyclists at a time and hundreds of spectators.
