MICA to Host Bike Share Event this Friday

This Friday at MICA

MICA’s bike share program, which launched 2 years ago and provides full time students with 6 bikes available for 48 hour checkouts from their Bolton Hill Campus is set for a “relaunch” this Friday, with free food, bike repairs, and bike safety demos at MICA’s Cohen Plaza.

The school adopted the bike share as an official school program after students got it off the ground with the help of Baltimore Bicycle Works. The Bike Share is not currently funded by the school, so students are trying to raise money to help with upkeep of the bikes.

Additionally, MICA’s support of such a program adds another dimension to their confusing non-comital to proposed bike lanes in the neighborhood, which attracted a lot of criticism from e-rags such as baltimorevelo.com
