Regional bike rides for cyclists of all abilities

We’ve assembled a schedule of regional bike rides that are suitable for beginners as well as those looking for “century” (100-mile) challenges. Most take place this spring, but for those who maybe need a little time to get ready, we’ve added two rides in the fall.

When Kate Haberer first walked into the Velocipede bike shop in June, she didn’t know the first thing about fixing bicycles. The 24-year-old graduate of the Maryland Institute College of Art had never even handled a wrench before. Now, she gets around on a bike she built herself.

“To be able to say I built this bike, every part of it is mine, and it rides really well — I definitely feel good about that one,” she said.
