Last November, it looked promising that bike share would hit Baltimore courtesy of B-Cycle, after the runaway success of the Capital Bike Share program.
Fast forward nearly a year later, and it looks like those plans have fallen by the wayside. Bike Shorts reports that B-Cycle was unable to raise enough financial support to move forward with the intiative.
Said Brian Conger of B-Cycle:
“There’s some great community support for bike sharing, but to do the business side is complicated and we need a certain number of [private] sponsors and financial support. There weren’t enough dollars committed for us to feel comfortable going forward.”
Disappointing, disappointing news. Read the full report over at Bike Shorts.
