Jeff La Noue of Coemback City has an idea. It’s time to build on the success of the Guilford Bike Boulevard with another infrastructure win for cyclists–the creation of a Jones Falls Bike Boulevard. The proposed route is above, and the author argues it “should be a top candidate for Baltimore’s next bicycle boulevard.”
La Noue’s argument–and it’s a compelling one–is twofold:
- The route is extremely popular among joggers and cyclists already, and more importantly
- Its design is kind of dangerous. Due to the curvy nature of the route, it isn’t hard to imagine a motorist riding around a cyclist while going around a curve, into an on-coming lane, and slamming head-on into another vehicle.
